We have started to include bits of Rumi in the Arabian Love Poems tribe, at the request of one of the members.
I saw somebodyb mentioning his "refuge from antisensuality". Come on over to check us out:
tribes.tribe.net/arabianlovepoems
This tribe has gone cross-cultural now, and includes, beside Nizar Qabbani as the main poet, also Lalla, Rumi, Golden Age Arab-Andalusian -poets, Sephardic songs and some others, too.
Our tribe is still small,as it is new, just two months old but we just celebrated our 50th member.

Fri, April 4, 2008 - 10:17 AMI've been impressed with not just how fast your tribe has grown but how active it's been since I joined. :) -

Re: Rumi elsewhere on tribe.net
Fri, April 4, 2008 - 10:23 AMIt's great, isn't it? I am very happy too.
By the way, I have just taken my Turkey video footage from the shelf and am working on a clip of the Sufis doing a whirling performance in Istanbul. As soon as I manage to remove that crackling from the soundtrack. Would it be the humidity here in summer or do I have toget the video camera cleaned? Suggestions appreciated. -

Re: Rumi elsewhere on tribe.net
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 8:24 AMIt could very well be the humidity. Here in Missouri we swim in the stuff, and it always messes up my video taping experiences. I don't know any prevention though. :( -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 8:25 AMIt gets vey humid here too. Winter has been dry. You mean, these tapes may be damaged forever and cannot be repaired?? OMG... -

Re: Rumi elsewhere on tribe.net
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 8:38 AMI dunno. I have a friend that tried to run some of mine through the computer and balance them out and sync up the sound with no luck. :( So the visuals are fine, but the audio is no good. :( -

Re: Rumi elsewhere on tribe.net
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 9:02 AMI asked at the photo shop how to preserve tapes in the heat and they recommended I put them in a tupperware container with silica drying pochets. Tupperware???? would that not just kill them in the heat?
