I read this and it shook me to the ground -- what beauty in life only he could express in words.

After all
the prayers
have been said,
and the tears shed
and the uncomfortable silences,
when we cannot respond,
endured
there remains
the soft, tender sorrow
that time does not heal.

And in that sorrow,
Fatah,
an opening
to the genuine sadness
of being alive ---
open to
the absolute necessity
of letting go
of everyone
and everything
we love.

We can close off
this deep sadness
or open
our tender hearts
so wide
that our heart
becomes as an
open sky ---

no borders,
nor boundaries,
just an open sky.

  • not sure of the title, but i agree with you about the beauty that is found in sorrow thru his words.

sort of reminds me of JOY AND SORROW from Kahlil Gibran:
your joy is your sorrow unmasked. and the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
and how else can it be?
the deeper sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?
and is not the lute that sooths your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?
when you are jouyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given your sorrow that is giving you joy.
when you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight...

i think it's good to remember this fluidity between joy & pain.
something to ponder as we enter this full moon in scorpio (a fierce water sign).
i am already feeling the depth and somewhat emotional urgency of this season.
    peace,

      Reminds me of a song...

      www.imeem.com/ju613/music...ck_joy_pain/

"something to ponder as we enter this full moon in scorpio (a fierce water sign)."

And boy, does THIS resonate with this poem (for the most part):

      www.astrowisdom.com/thisfullmoon.htm

"i am already feeling the depth and somewhat emotional urgency of this season.
      peace,
      mel!nda"

I hear you mel!nda....and over the last year or so the usual mood that has accompanied this 'urgency' has been sadness in more of an anxious way, but lately it has been shifting again...and there is the willingness to bear the 'sadness' and the Joy of this...Beauty that is Life, shines through.

Today though...well, let's say the sadness isn't 'heavy'...there is only this Beauty. :)

And I say this in full awareness of all the atrocities that have been, are taking place at this very moment, and may be to come:

There is only Love....and if you bear witness fully to the attrocities, in the 'world' and in 'your~self', this Joy~full Truth will reveal itself.

      Peace, Love and Hugs Y'all!
